A Statement from Briana Smith, Our Practice Manager:
Our strength is in our differences. Every team member has a seat at the table from the paralegals to the associate attorneys. We don’t just work here; we belong here.
These aren’t just empty statements either. To see a bit of the proof, look at the firm’s makeup. Our firm is owned by a woman, staffed by brilliant women from different racial backgrounds and sexual orientations, and managed by me, a black woman. We actively support one another and aim to bolster every voice so we don’t just take up space, we create space for everyone on our team.
Advancing women in law is not just a concept, it is the firm’s goal. We are focused on mentoring women in law even if we do not employ them. We participate in mentoring events for school aged girls and young women, build and foster relationships with women in law, and celebrate the wins of our peers as they make strides in the workplace.
These statements guide our hiring, employee benefits, client service, and workplace culture. We are not a law firm that focuses on billable hours first; we are a law firm that focuses on people that need family law help and the people that provide that legal help. We support all our people, clients and staff alike.
